Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The German Grid Expansion Acceleration Act for the Transmission Network (NABEG) is intended to accelerate the expansion of cross-border and cross-border high-voltage lines within the meaning of the Energy Industry Act . The law is intended to provide the basis for legally secure, transparent, efficient and environmentally friendly expansion of the transmission network and its upgrading.

The law primarily regulates federal planning for the route corridors and the plan approval procedure . Accordingly, with the consent of the Federal Council, the Federal Government can authorize the Federal Network Agency to carry out the relevant planning approval procedures with application conferences, hearing procedures, environmental impact assessments (EIA) and planning approval decisions.
