Network participation model

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The network participation model is a billing system for the remuneration of transport services by distribution network operators for natural gas .

It is based on the provisions of the Gas Network Fee Ordinance (GasNEV - Ordinance on Fees for Access to Gas Supply Networks ). In contrast to the entry-exit model , it is a transaction-independent point model for local distribution networks in accordance with Section 18 GasNEV.

To supply end customers with natural gas that has been made available at the virtual trading point (VTP), a supplier only needs a contract with the exit network operator within the framework of the network participation model. There are no network charges to be paid for feeding gas into the local distribution network . The level of the network charges to be paid by the network users is therefore independent of the pressure level and the spatial distance between the place where the gas is fed in and the place where it is withdrawn. They already include the costs for all upstream networks.

The basis for handling natural gas transport is the cooperation agreement between the operators of gas supply networks in Germany (KOV V).
