Industrial Culture Network Bergisches Land
The Network Industrial Culture Bergisches Land eV is a working group of museums and interested individuals to develop and maintain a common profile of industrial culture in the Bergisches Land .
history
In the summer of 1997 a working group came together, which has been a registered association since August 1998 under the name Netzwerk Industriekultur Bergisches Land e. V. operates. The network sees itself as a central point of contact for everyone who is interested in the past and present of the Bergisches Land as an industrial and cultural landscape. It promotes the coordination of strengths, experiences and contents of independent institutions or locations. These include:
- Soil monuments and industrial monuments in private ownership,
- Museums that have arisen from voluntary initiative,
- Public institutions such as industrial museums of the cities and the Rhineland Regional Council .
Thanks to the working group, it can be used in a network so that a presentation can take place more effectively. It is the goal of the network not only to make better use of the industrial tourism potential of this region in the future, but also to expand it further.
Traveling exhibitions
Since 2009, the network has presented 12 selected museums in the Bergisches Land in the touring exhibition Mit Feuer & Wasser . Each of these museums preserves and presents an aspect of the diverse industrial and technical history of this region.
