The Roman Catholic parish church Marchtrenk is in the town of Marchtrenk in Wels-Land district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Stephen and belongs to the Deanery Wels-Land in the Diocese of Linz .

history

Since the old parish church became too small at the end of the 1950s, the parish announced an architectural competition for a new church in the 1960s. The winner of this competition was the architect Adolf Kaspar, who was commissioned to build a new parish center. This started in 1971. The new church was inaugurated by Bishop Franz Zauner on April 1, 1973 .

The church on the main road extends over an area of ​​600 m². This is followed by the parish hall, parish hall and youth rooms. In 1990 the new church was expanded to include a weekday chapel.

Church interior

The church interior meets the requirements of the Second Vatican Council . The interior was designed by the sculptor Jakob Kopp .

Furnishing

The way of the cross is made of clay. In 1991 a new organ was installed.
