Neufchateler Memorial Medal

The Neufchateler Memorial Medal was on January 18, 1832 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. Donated by Prussia as sovereign Prince of Neufchatel and Count of Valangen for all Prussian fighters against the rebellion in Switzerland in 1831 and in memory of the liberation of Neufchateles .

The silver medal (diameter 24.6 mm) shows the initials of the founder FG (Frederic Guillaume) under the Prussian royal crown and the inscription FIDELITE AU DEVOIR ET A LA PATRIE all around . On the reverse, Neufchatel's coat of arms is surrounded by an oak leaf and laurel wreath connected by a ribbon .

The award was worn on a 30 mm wide ribbon with yellow, red, white and black stripes on the left chest. This rare Prussian decoration was awarded 7,006 times.
