Neutor (Linz on the Rhine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Neutor Linz on the Rhine. Before that, the bronze sculpture "Linzer Klapperjunge" from 1987

The Neutor is a city gate tower of the city fortifications of Linz am Rhein . The tallest building in the city at 25 meters and the most easterly of the Linz city gates were built from basalt and slate quarry, presumably after the great city fire of 1391.

In contrast to the rest of the city fortifications, which were largely demolished in 1861, the gate is still there. It is next to the new road 42 and stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .
