It was released on December 30, 1984, on the Billboard Hot 100 it was the seventh and thus the last song by the Pointer Sisters to reach the top ten.
Neutron Dance appeared against the backdrop of the last phase of the Cold War in the 1980s, which is also reflected in the song: The government of the former Soviet Union misunderstood a message from the United States and therefore started a nuclear war .
In the episode Never Scouts of Family Guy dancing an ancestor of Peter Griffin a dance that is named after the song. It was also heard in the episode My Father Bob Hope from Golden Girls .
Music video
