The New Mexico State Route 17 ( NM 17 for short ) is a state route in the US state of New Mexico that runs in a north-south direction.
The State Route begins on US Highways 64 and 84 in Chama and ends after 15 kilometers at the border with Colorado . After the border, it becomes Colorado State Highway 17 . The New Mexico State Route 29 branches off in Chama .
