Newsmaster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Originally called Newsmaster the system administrator a Usenet - News server . The term arose analogously to role accounts such as webmasters or postmasters . While the last two terms have become so well established that they are documented in RFC 2142 , the role names Usenet and News are assigned to the function of the news server administrator .

More recently, the term newsmaster also means the person who researches and filters news and reports and makes them available in context on a website . The function is thus similar to the webmaster, but the focus is more on web feeds (especially via RSS or Atom ) and other technologies, which are often summarized under the keyword Web 2.0 .
