Ni'lin

Ni'lin ( Arabic نعلين) is a Palestinian village with about 4,700 inhabitants that belongs to Ramallah and Al-Bireh in the central West Bank .

Ni'lin is 17 kilometers west of Ramallah and is about 3 kilometers east of the Armistice Line ( Green Line ) delimited by Deir Qaddis in 1949 , northeast of the Israeli settlements of Nili and Na'ale , south of the village of Al-Midya and the Israeli settlement block Modi 'in Illit ( Kiryat Sefer ) and northwest of the villages of Budrus (4 km) and Qibya (5 km).

The area is 15,000 dunams in size , 660 of which are urban. According to the Oslo II Agreement , 93.3% of the urban area was classified as " Area C ". Most of the residents are farmers. Before the Second Intifada broke out , many were also involved in construction. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the village had about 4,750 inhabitants in mid-2006.

Located 262 meters above sea level, Ni'lin has mild winters and hot, dry summers with temperatures averaging 32 ° C during the day.
