Nicholas Tongue

Nicholas Tongue (born April 8, 1973 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand swimmer. Tongue was one of the best freestyle swimmers in his country in the mid-1990s.

He celebrated his greatest sporting success in 1995 when he won the gold medal at the World Short Course Championships in Rio de Janeiro as a member of the New Zealand 4 × 100 meter medley relay. The relay won with the fourth-best time ever and set a new New Zealand national record.

He had previously won the silver medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria along with the New Zealand 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay.
