Out of this world is a comedy series that ran from July 29 to August 16, 2005 in double episodes of 30 minutes on RTL . The alien YOK from the party planet Moklops lands on earth and moves in with nine-year-old Sven Thiel, who lives with his family near Cologne. In doing so, he vigorously mixes up the family life of Michael Thiel, a sales manager at a furniture store.

The idea of the series is reminiscent of Mork vom Ork and was developed at the end of 2003.

reception

The FAZ rated the RTL sitcom as suitable for “6 year olds” in the “children's program”, but expressed the impression that RTL itself was “no longer happy” with this series.

Due to the poor ratings of around one million viewers and around four percent market share, RTL stopped broadcasting before the last episode. This was never broadcast.
