Nicoffeine is a German noise rock band from Koblenz , consisting of the musicians Soheyl Nassary (guitar, vocals), Guido Lucas (bass) and Jörg A. Schneider (drums).

history

Beginning time (1995-2000)

Soheyl Nassary founded the band Midian in 1995 together with Farjan Dehnad Tabatabai (vocals) and Thorsten Pagé (bass). After the formation, the band initially recorded demos on the drums with a changing line-up and played concerts at local level. 1996–1997 Christoph Reichling was replaced on drums by Carsten Michels and Thorsten Pagé on bass by Christian Jung. The new members turned out to be an enrichment for the musical development of the band. With the new line-up, an EP was released in 1998 on their own label Polychronoise .

Start-up (2000)

Due to the further development of the sound by the new line-up, the band members decided in 2000 to rename the band to Nicoffeine. Shortly before the band was renamed, Farjan Dehnad Tabatabai left the band and Nicoffeine continued to act as a trio with guest singer Mario Burgard. In the same year, Nicoffeine recorded their first studio album in the Blubox recording studio operated by producer Guido Lucas .

In 2001 Nicoffeine released their first album Beware the Ides of August / Supercharger No.6 on Guido Lucas' label bluNoise Records, where they still publish their albums to this day. Further restructuring followed between 2001 and 2003. Nassary took over the vocal part and the line-up was expanded by the electronic act Rotorboy (David Wölk from Cowboys in Cubes ), who helped create the Nicoffeine albums with his soundscapes. In 2005 the album Savant Lies Away From Home was released ; In 2006 the previous drummer Norman Achenbach was replaced by Jörg A. Schneider (ex- Les Hommes Qui Wear Espandrillos ), who in 2007 also recorded the third studio album Admiring Those Artholes . Before the recordings for the fourth album Lighthealer Stalking Flashplayer , which was released in 2010, Guido Lucas finally took over from longtime bassist Christian Jung.

All Nicoffeine albums were released on bluNoise Records and produced by Guido Lucas. All cover artwork was designed by Soheyl Nassary.
