Nicolas-Léopold Liébault

Nicolas-Léopold Liébault (* 1723 Nancy ; † 1795 ) was a French officer, author and encyclopaedist .

Live and act

He was the son of a lawyer and was born in Nancy. His brother was the Nicolas-François-Xavier Liébault (1716–1800). Liébault edited the articles former , dresser , and fuite for the Encyclopédie by Denis Diderot and Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert .

The two brothers served as officers in the French Régiment Royal-Lorraine during the beginning of the Seven Years' War from around 1756 to 1758 .
