Nicolas Gustave Hubbard

Nicolas Gustave Hubbard [ yˈbaːʀ ] (*  1828 in Fourqueux , Département Seine-et-Oise , † February 21, 1888 in Paris ) was a French economist and historian.

When the École d'administration was suppressed, Hubbard published the pamphlet Défense de l'école d'administration (1849) as its pupil , then became a lawyer and, in 1851, was appointed secretary of the Propaganda Committee of the Sociétés de prévoyance a year later the work De l'organization des sociétés de prévoyance ou de secours mutuels (1852), which was crowned by the Academy, appeared. Later works are:

  • 1857: Saint-Simon, sa vie et ses travaux
  • 1869–1883: Histoire contemporaine d'Espagne (6 volumes)
  • 1875: Histoire de la littérature contemporaine en Espagne

Hubbard was later the editor of the République française newspaper .
