Nicolas Paalzow

Nicolas Paalzow (born May 3, 1967 ) is a former managing director of the television station Sat.1 . He resigned from his position in early October 2015. As a reason, he cited failures in the selection of TV programs that "did not hit the nerve of the audience". His previous deputy, Kaspar Pflüger , became the official successor .

Career

Nicolas Paalzow studied English and American literary studies as well as modern history and media studies with a degree in media consultancy (TU). Before Paalzow became managing director of Sat.1 in 2012, he held other managerial positions within the broadcasting family, including managing director of Kabel 1 and ProSieben . So he started in 1992 as assistant to the managing director at Kabelkanal . From 1993 to 1996 he was responsible for corporate planning at DSF and its deputy program director. In 1996 he became head of programming at Kabel 1, and in 1999 its managing director. In 2000 he moved to ProSieben as managing director. In 2004 he became managing director of Janus TV / Janus Entertainment and in 2010 in the same position at MME Entertainment GmbH.
