The Low German Stage in Münster is a theater ensemble at the Münster Theater that has set itself the task of maintaining the Münsterländer Platt .

history

It was founded on May 12, 1919 (charter). The first chairman was Friedrich Castelle , one of the co-founders Karl Wagenfeld . The first name was the Low German Stage of the Münster Literary Society in Westphalia , today it is called the Low German Stage at the Münster Theater .

The Niederdeutsche Bühne Münster has around 70 members; around 25 of them are active. Its aim is to promote, maintain and cultivate the Low German language using the means of the theater.
