Rottendorf Prize
The Rottendorf Prize is a sponsorship prize of the Rottendorf Foundation, which has been awarded annually since 1963 for services to the Low German language and since 1977 in pharmacy or pharmacology . The Europe Prize has also been available since 1993.
The Rottendorf Foundation and the prizes
Since they had no children, Andreas J. Rottendorf , the founder of the pharmaceutical company Rottendorf Pharma , and Ms. Rose transferred their assets to the Rottendorf Foundation. It promotes the pharmaceutical sciences, the research and maintenance of the Low German language, as well as church, general scientific and charitable purposes.
The foundation's two sponsorship awards, which are awarded alternately every year, are highly regarded: one for special achievements in pharmacology and pharmacy and one for services to the Low German language.
The Rottendorf prizes are each endowed with € 5000.
