Markus Thommes

Markus Thommes (born January 18, 1978 in Magdeburg ) is a German pharmacist and university professor.

Life

Thommes studied pharmacy from 1997 to 2001 at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . In 2002 he received a diploma in pharmacy. He then worked as an intern in the Viktoria pharmacy in Halle and received his pharmacist license in November 2002. From 2003 to 2006 he completed a doctoral degree at the Institute for Pharmaceuticals and Biopharmaceuticals at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg and at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . After that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Pharmaceuticals and Biopharmaceuticals at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf until the end of 2006, and in 2007 at the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy at Purdue University in West Lafayette , in the USA. In 2008 he returned to Düsseldorf and until 2014 was assistant professor in the Academic Council of the Institute for Pharmaceuticals and Biopharmaceuticals at Heinrich Heine University.

In October 2014, Thommes was appointed to the chair for solid process engineering at the Faculty of Biological and Chemical Engineering at TU Dortmund University.
