The Rottendorf Pharma GmbH is an international pharmaceutical service companies for the development, manufacturing and packaging of solid dosage forms. Analytics, ICH stability studies, quality assurance, the production of clinical samples, market release and the creation and updating of approval dossiers are also offered. Rottendorf does not have any of its own products on the market.
history
Rottendorf Pharma was founded as a family company in Berlin in 1928. The company's headquarters have been in Ennigerloh since 1949 . 1971 the founder Andreas J. Rottendorf died ; his wife continued to run the business and subsequently contributed the company shares to a non-profit foundation. After a fire in 1993 that damaged a large part of the building, a new production building was built by 1996. In 2002 a second location for the packaging area was set up in Ennigerloh. In 2009 a new development and upscaling center was built at the company's headquarters. In addition to Rottendorf Pharma GmbH and the subsidiary Rottendorf Pharma SAS in Valencienne / France, Rottendorf Pharma Inc. was founded in 2011 with its headquarters in Chicago.
Since the beginning of 2011 the company has been divided into three companies: Rottendorf Pharma GmbH, Rottendorf Operations GmbH and Rottendorf Service GmbH.
Numbers, facts and special features
From 1997 the company achieved a turnover of 18 million euros with 215 employees and an increase in turnover to 62 million euros with 570 employees by 2005. At the end of 2008, 654 people were employed and sales of around € 77 million were achieved. In 2009 and 2010, sales fell to € 62 million and € 67 million with 545 employees (end of 2010). In 2011, Rottendorf Pharma GmbH was able to increase its sales again to € 74 million.
After the death of the entrepreneurial couple, the company was incorporated into the non-profit Rottendorf Foundation they established. The goals of the foundation include the promotion of young pharmacy scientists as well as social and religious projects such as the Rottendorf project at the Munich School of Philosophy . In addition, the Rottendorf Foundation awards prizes for the preservation of the Low German language and supports the supply of pharmaceuticals in the Third World.
