The Niedermühle Hirschgrund , a historic wood processing mill, is located in the Hirschgrund in the Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna community and was opened in 1854.

The mill wheel is the largest preserved water wheel in Saxony and has a diameter of 8.2 meters and was driven overshot, soapstone was used as shaft bearings on the left of the barrel side and wooden planks (oak planks) on the right. The mill, which is now in a dilapidated condition, was operated by the Röllig family until 1968, previously by the Schöps family. The main focus next to the mill wheel is the frame saw built around 1850 by the company "Gebrüder Grosse, Mühlenbauanstalt und Maschinenfabrik from Lohmen ", as well as the entire transmission of the water power and the various other wood processing machines .
