About this picture

Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna is a municipality in Saxony . It is located on the left Elbe southeast of Bad Schandau in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

history

Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna includes the districts of Reinhardtsdorf , Schöna and Kleingießhübel , which merged on January 1, 1973.

Reinhardtsdorf

Reinhardtsdorf is a Waldhufendorf mentioned as early as 1368 , with formerly predominantly agricultural character. Today the economic focus is on tourism . The forest pool is located south of the village . The late Gothic church dates from 1523, the tower from 1685. Next to homestead no. 7 there is an old, protected linden tree from around 1550. In house no. 21, or its barn, was an illegal one during the Nazi era Printing house, to which a monument refers. In 2009 Reinhardtsdorf had 854 inhabitants (1999: 986 inhabitants).

On February 14, 2010, on Time Air flight 039C, a Cessna Citation Bravo crashed near a town.

Nice

Schöna is located 280 m south of the Elbe near the border with the Czech Republic . The old Waldhufendorf, first mentioned in 1379, exists u. a. from small cottages and old three-sided farms . The Kaiserkrone rises on the outskirts of Schöna , a little further south the Zirkelstein . The Hirschgrund leads down to the Elbe to Hirschmühle and cuts the flatness of Schöna. Due to the abundance of water and the high gradient, several mills were originally in operation here. The few properties in the slightly dusky and cool narrow valley belong to Schöna. The Schöna Heimatstube is located in a half- timbered house in the main street, with historical evidence of the life of the inhabitants in earlier centuries. In the north-west in the direction of the Großer Zschirnstein there is a striking oak called "Kreusels Eiche" . An important son of the community is Wilhelm Schaffrath (1814-1893), lawyer, member of the state and Reichstag. He was a delegate of the National Assembly in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt in 1848. In 2009 Schöna had 454 inhabitants (1999: 565 inhabitants).

Kleingießhübel

Kleingießhübel was first mentioned in 1379 as a Gizobel . In addition to the mining of brown iron ore on the Zschirnstein , the main source of income was the production of pitch as a lubricant for the wagons on the road to Tetschen that touched the town .

The NPD was able to achieve its best result in the state elections in Saxony in 2004 with 23.1%, and it also achieved an above-average number of votes in the 2005 federal election with 14.4%.

In the mayoral elections in 2006 it was expected in advance that an NPD candidate would have a very good chance. By means of a referendum on the initiative of the NPD, a community merger with the neighboring town of Bad Schandau was stopped on March 12, 2006 , which would have prevented the new election. With a brisk voter turnout, 93% of the 1380 residents of Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna voted for the municipality to be independent. In the elections on April 23, however, Olaf Ehrlich, an independent candidate who had previously clearly distanced himself from the NPD, prevailed. No candidates from the NPD ran for election because they feared a blockade of the place.

In the district election on June 8, 2008, the free voters achieved the best result with 26.8%. With 25.2%, the NPD received more votes than the CDU (21.7%), Left (15.6%), FDP (4.2%), SPD (3.7%) and Greens (2.8%) .

Since the municipal council election on May 26, 2019 , the 12 seats of the municipal council have been distributed among the individual groups as follows:

  • Voter Association 94 (WV94): 9 seats
  • NPD : 2 seats
  • Voter Association 2009 (WV09): 1 seats

The NPD again achieved its best result in Saxony with 19.6% of the votes.

Reinhardtsdorf Church

The church in Reinhardtsdorf was first mentioned in 1368, but its history goes back to the first settlement around 1200. At the beginning of the 16th century it was expanded and in 1521 a Gothic winged altar was added. This carved altar with a representation of Anna the third was replaced in 1681 when the church was redesigned, where the tower was also built, by a baroque altar depicting Jesus' last supper , his crucifixion and resurrection. The Gothic altar was in the museum in Dresden for a long time and only returned to Reinhardtsdorf in January 1945, just a few days before the air raids on Dresden . It is now next to the pulpit from 1615. From 1680 to 1711 the church was painted. The ceiling shows the Last Judgment and the Trinity , the upper gallery depicting scenes from the Old Testament , mainly from the first book of Moses , but also from the Exodus from Egypt , from Samson , David , and Elijah , the lower gallery presents the life of Jesus Christ is Under each picture is the name of the founder and the amount of money he donated. The Christian virtues are depicted on the stalls. The surroundings of Reinhardtsdorf, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, serve as the background for the images . The church has an organ by Hermann Eule Orgelbau Bautzen from 1911.
