Culture and sights

Excursion destinations

  • St. Laurentius Church Hartmannsdorf

The church was probably built as a wooden structure as soon as the settlement began around 1200, as a simple rectangular building and later made of stone. The church was immediately included in the development plan when the town was founded, as it was incorporated into the row of Hufen . In 1346 the first documentary mention took place in a register of the diocese of Meissen. In 1512 the apse was added . In 1743 and 1850 the vestibules were added.

To the east of Hartmannsdorf is the dam, built between 1927 and 1931, which is a specialty due to its straight weight dam. It serves the flood protection , as well as the drinking water supply of the area and also for Dresden. Your stowage volume is 23 million cubic meters. The dam is 50 m high and 520 m long. When the water is extremely low, in 1975 and 2018, the dam gives a view of the sunken town of Steinbrückmühle , which was once part of the new Hartmannsdorf building.

  • Hartmannsdorfer Switzerland

Below the dam there are up to 20 m high rocks in which parts of the village population hid during the Second World War .

  • Old ski jump in the Weißeritztal

The ski jumping hill (name: Schanze der Zukunft) was the meeting place for village youth in winter in the 1950s. It was built within several years by Hans Neubert from Frauenstein, who dug it into the mountain with other ski jumping enthusiasts.

The original of the half-mile stone is stored in the municipal office with two original signposts from the Reichenau district.

There are many hiking trails in the area, and there are also many routes for freeride mountain biking . In winter there are some cross-country trails.
