history

History of the villages

Manor Klingenberg, manor house

The oldest mention of a place in the region dates back to the year 1235, when a Hoico de Hoikendorph is mentioned as the owner of the manor of today's village Höckendorf. The traditions only name the next places for the first time about 100 years later, for example in 1336 Röthenbach as Rotinbach , 1337 Preczindorf and 1348/49 Colmnitz as Colbenitz . With the exception of Paulshain, which was only founded in 1540, all of today's Klingenberg districts are first mentioned in the 14th century. In 1350 Ropotendorf (Ruppendorf), Conradisdorf (Obercunnersdorf) and Clingendorf (Klingenberg) were first mentioned. In 1360 the place Friederichsdorf , which is called Friedersdorf today, was first mentioned. The villages of Berenwalde (Beerwalde) and Borloz (Borlas) were first mentioned in documents in 1378.

Merger

The first considerations about the community merger came when Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau , a member community in the Pretzschendorf administrative community , announced its intention to move to the town of Frauenstein in 2010 and thus leave the administrative community. A partner then had to be found for Pretzschendorf because the community is not strong enough on its own. There were talks with the neighboring community of Höckendorf, which went well. The incorporation contract was passed on June 12, 2012 by the Höckendorfer municipal council. On June 20, the Pretzschendorfer municipal council also voted for the merger. The district gave its approval at the end of August.

The new formation of the community came into force on December 31, 2012. The Höckendorfer coat of arms was adopted. The municipal councils of both merged municipalities were initially merged into one municipal council, which remained in place until the next local election in 2014. The mayors of the municipalities were replaced by an office administrator who was in charge of the official business until the new mayor was elected on March 24, 2013. The administrative community with Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau was taken over by the new municipality.

In the course of the merger, duplicate street names also had to be changed, and the uniform postcode 01774 also applies to the new municipality.

The municipality name comes from the former Pretzschendorfer district Klingenberg, because it is known nationwide due to the dam and also represents an important business location in the municipality due to the industrial park and the Klingenberg-Colmnitz train station .

Blazon : “ In red a silver stake adorned with three red lilies standing on top of each other. - Upper coat of arms: red lined, golden helmet with red and silver covers; Helmet small bush of eight silver cock feathers, four of which are bent to the right and left; the second and seventh rooster feathers and, together, the fourth and fifth rooster feathers each covered by a red lily. "

The municipality flag of Klingenberg has horizontal red and silver stripes. The municipal coat of arms is placed on the strip.

Administrative community

Between the municipality of Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau and the municipality of Pretzschendorf, the Upper Elbe Valley / Eastern Ore Mountains municipal area reform law passed at the end of 1998 ordered the formation of an administrative community . As of January 1, 1999, this law ordered the dissolution of the administrative association An der Talsperre Klingenberg and the merger of Klingenberg, Colmnitz and Pretzschendorf into Pretzschendorf. The administrative community came into being with effect from January 1, 2000 as the administrative community Pretzschendorf . Pretzschendorf thus became a fulfilling municipality for Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau. With the merger of Pretzschendorf and Höckendorf zu Klingenberg, the new municipality took over the administrative community and is today a fulfilling municipality for Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau. The mayor of Klingenberg, Schreckenbach, is thus also the head of the administrative association.

In the administrative community, which has no legal capacity , Klingenberg takes on part of the administrative tasks for Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau, for example drawing up the land use plan , and receives a contribution from Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau.

Constituencies

The municipality belongs to the federal electoral district of Saxon Switzerland - Eastern Ore Mountains , which extends over the entire district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. From 1990 to 2002, the predecessor communities belonged to the Bundestag constituency Dresden-Land - Freital - Dippoldiswalde . The direct mandate had been won by the CDU since the constituencies were set up in 1990 to 2017 , and in 2017 for the first time by the AfD . Today Frauke Petry , who left the AfD after the election, sits for this constituency in the German Bundestag .

At the state level, Klingenberg has belonged to the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains 2 constituency since the state elections in 2014 , which largely includes the area of the old district of Dippoldiswalde. Since the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the vice-president of the state parliament, Andrea Dombois (CDU), has been in the Saxon state parliament for the constituency . In the state elections in 1990 the region belonged to the constituency of Dippoldiswalde - Freital II , in the state elections in 1994 and 1999 to the constituency of Weißeritz and then in 2004 and 2009 to the constituency of Weißeritz 2 .

Town twinning
