About this picture

The Klingenberg administrative association is an administrative association in the Free State of Saxony . It is located in the west of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district around 30 km southwest of the state capital Dresden , around 15 km southeast of Freiberg , 11 km west of the large district town of Dippoldiswalde and around 20 km north of the border with the Czech Republic .

The landscape of the community area is located on the northern slopes of the Eastern Ore Mountains above the Weißeritztal. It borders the Tharandt Forest in the north . The Klingenberg and Lehnmühle dams and their tributary, the Wilde Weißeritz, are located in the community area . The federal highway 173 runs north of the community area , south the B 171 and east the B 170 .

The administrative community was formed on January 1, 2000 as the administrative community Pretzschendorf . Due to the merger of Pretzschendorf with the neighboring community of Höckendorf on December 31, 2012, the administrative community changed its name.
