Bruno Konrad

Bruno Konrad (born December 13, 1930 in Kaunas , Lithuania; † March 25, 2007 in Höckendorf near Dresden ) was a German painter and graphic artist. From 1985 to 1994 he was professor of graphics.

Life

After learning the bakery trade and a brief activity as a poster painter, he went to Dresden in 1954 and prepared for an artistic degree at the workers and farmers faculty . From 1957 to 1962 he studied graphics at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . In 1963 he received the Max Pechstein Prize from the city of Zwickau . After completing his studies, he worked for two years as a freelance artist and then as an aspirant with Rudolf Bergander . He then taught at his former training facility from 1965. In 1985 he was appointed professor of graphics. As a lecturer and a member of the examination committee, he was also in favor of theInstitute for training in fine arts and art therapy in Bochum.

From 1994 Konrad retired and lived in Höckendorf . There he got involved in the local cultural association. Konrad died in 2007. His grave is in the Loschwitz cemetery in Dresden.

Exhibitions

Solo exhibitions with his works took place in Dresden, Ahrenshoop , Dippoldiswalde and Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse .

He was represented at international exhibitions in Zwickau, Warsaw , St. Petersburg , Algeria , Hefei (China), Vienna , Hamburg , Emden and Bochum .
