geography
Neuklingenberg is located one kilometer southwest of Klingenberg on the border with Colmnitz on the slope of the Neuklingenberger Höhe ( 476 m ). history
In 1798 the owner of the Klingenberg hereditary estate, Samuel Gottfried Elteste, sold land to four of his subjects to build houses on the heights above the Klingenberg valley. The first house was completed in 1806. Since the Fürstenweg crossed another road at the height, JF Tauscher acquired the license in 1808 and opened a break . In the first half, an irregular housing estate developed, which was called the new houses . Until 1836, the administrative affiliation of the settlement close to the border to the Freiberg office was with the Dresden office, after which Neu-Klingenberg was the southernmost town in the Grillenburg office. In 1840 Neuklingenberg consisted of 12-14 houses, together with Alt-Klingenberg the place formed the municipality of Klingenberg. From 1856 to 1875 Neuklingenberg belonged to the Tharandt court office , then to the Dresden administration . On March 26, 1907, the restaurant at Zur Neuklingenberger Höhe burned down and was rebuilt as a three-sided courtyard within a year . From 1911 to 1914, a narrow-gauge industrial railway ran from Klingenberg-Colmnitz station for the construction of dams past Neuklingenberg.
From 1952 Neuklingenberg belonged to the Freital district , from 1994 to the Weißeritz district and since 2008 to the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district . The listed Gasthof Zur Neuklingenberger Höhe fell into disrepair in the second half of the 20th century. In 1995, the abandoned three-sided courtyard began to be converted into a hotel, which has been operating as Neue Höhe since 2015 .
