Nighthawk Records is an American record label founded in 1976 by Leroy Pierson.

In the first few years since its inception, the label mainly features critically acclaimed compilations of works by blues musicians recorded before and after World War II, such as Robert Nighthawk (the label's namesake), Professor Longhair , Sonny Boy Williamson II , Robert Lockwood Jr. , Little Walter , Lightnin 'Hopkins and Big Joe Williams have been released, as well as an album with recent recordings by Henry Townsend .

In 1980 Nighthawk Records reoriented itself to Jamaican music and - with the exception of an album with blues songs by founder and owner Leroy Jodie Pierson (1988) - only produced reggae recordings. Long-time owner Robert Schoenfeld passed away at his home in St. Louis , Missouri on October 23, 2006 at the age of 59 .
