Nightliners are buses that are rented by concert , tour organizers and bands or ensembles in order to transport the artists and crews - for example as part of a tour - from one venue to the next and at the same time to function as a rolling hotel. They were originally used in the USA (local name sleeper bus ) and later spread to Europe via Great Britain. Hotel buses for tourist purposes offer a similar function and equipment .

Areas of application and equipment

So that the artists and their crews reach the next venue in good time and rested, they are transported in buses with seats and beds, the nightliners. It is not allowed to stay in bed while driving in the EU.

There is no technical difference between nightliners and coaches . Either used or new coaches are used as basic vehicles. Used buses are either converted by the tour bus company themselves or by specialist companies. New vehicles are delivered “naked”, i.e. without seats and in some cases without floor, ceiling or interior panels. In this case, too, the individual interior fittings are carried out by the companies themselves, specialist firms or special departments of the bus manufacturers.

Nightliners offer seats and bunks. The buses are usually equipped with modern sound and entertainment systems, internet access, galleys with refrigerators and toilets. Depending on the use and provider, tiled showers, washing machines, living room landscapes, etc. are also available.
