Nightshift was released worldwide in January 1985, from then on it became a number one hit in the Netherlands , winning at the 1986 Grammy Awards in the category: Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals .
The song is 5:04 minutes long, was released as the first single from the album of the same name and on the B-side is the composed piece I Keep Running . The producer of the song is Dennis Lambert.
The song was released in memory of Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye , who both died in 1984.
In June 2010 the song was re-recorded as the Michael Jackson Tribute . For example, “Michael” is sung instead of Jackie and Marvin.
