Nicomachus (son of Aristotle)
Nicomachus (Greek Νικόμαχος, end of the 4th century BC) was the son of Aristotle . Its main ethical work, the Nicomachean Ethics , is probably named after his son or father, both of whom were called Nicomachus, or another person of the same name.
life and work
Suda - a Byzantine encyclopedia of the 10th century AD - reports that Nicomachus - like his father - came from Stageira, was a philosopher and student of Theophrastus and that he wrote six books on ethics and a commentary on lectures on the physics of the Aristotle wrote.
The fact that Nicomachus wrote ethical works is probably a mistake in the Nicomachean Ethics , which originated from Aristotle and is named after Nicomachus.
