Nima Youschij

Nima Youschidsch or Nimā Juschidsch ( Persian نيما يوشيج, * November 12, 1897 ; † January 6, 1960 ), often just called Nima , was a Persian poet who, as the "father of modern Persian poetry", developed the so-called "New Persian Poem" (Nima-ye) .

His real name was Ali Esfandiari (علی اسفندياری). He was born in the district of Nūr in the village of Yusch in the northern Iranian province of Māzandarān and, if he wished, was buried there.
