Ninon de Brouwer Lapeiretta

Ninón de Brouwer Lapeiretta ( Ninon Lapeiretta Pichardo de Brouwer , born January 4, 1907 in Santo Domingo , † 1989 ibid) was a Dominican composer and pianist.

Lapeiretta attended the Liceo Musical directed by José de Jesús Ravelo and attended the piano classes of Graciela Abréu , Dolores Alardo and Blanca Mieses . In the 1940s she studied composition with Enrique Casal Chapí .

In 1941 she founded the Circulo de Bellas artes , of which she was president, and in 1945 the Sociedad Dominicana de Conciertos INTARIN . Since 1953 she has directed the Dominican concert society Sociedad pro Arte , which she also founded .

Her suite arcaica for string quartet was performed and recorded on record at the BBC London in 1944 . With the Suite de danzas she won the Concurso Nacional de Música in 1963 .
