Nina & Frederik , also Nina & Frederick , was a Danish - Dutch singing - Duo , which existed from 1959 to 1969. It consisted of the singer and actress Baroness Nina van Pallandt and her husband Baron Frederik van Pallandt .
Career
In 1959, even before they got married, the couple was successful in the British charts with a new recording of the Christmas carol Mary’s Boy Child . With their folk and easy listening style , as well as calypso singing titles, they achieved worldwide popularity. Some of the better known titles include Listen to the Ocean , Sucu, Sucu and Little Donkey . The duo had their first appearance in a German film in 1959 in Mandolinen und Mondschein by director Hans Deppe . The last regular single was released in 1963. In 1966 a live version of a song from the Royal Albert Hall was released again. No further publications followed after that, appearances continued until 1969. The couple divorced in 1975.
