JFE Holdings, Inc. ( Japanese JFE ホ ー ル デ ィ ン グ ス 株式会社 , JFE Hōrudingusu Kabushiki kaisha ), listed on the Nikkei 225 , is a global Japanese group of companies based in Tokyo . It was created in 2002 through the merger of Nippon Kokan KK (NKK) and Kawasaki Steel Corporation .

The main business area is steel production (eighth largest steel manufacturer in the world), the group is also active in the fields of engineering, logistics and chemistry.
