Njai Darboe stood in the 2007 parliamentary elections as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Jarra West constituency in the Mansa Konko Administrative Area . With 64.54%, he was able to win the constituency in front of Kemenseng Jammeh (UDP). In the following election to parliament in 2012 , Darboe ran again as a candidate in the same constituency. With 53.17% he was able to win the constituency again in front of the independent candidate Alkali Sillah. Darboe did not run for the 2017 parliamentary election .
