The Dywizjon 316 ( Polish RAF City of Warsaw Fighter Squadron 316, Polish: 316 Dywizjon Myśliwski "Warszawski", German 316th Squadron) was a Polish fighter squadron of the Royal Air Force during World War II .

history

The No. The 316 Squadron was established in Pembrey on February 15, 1941 . It was armed with Hawker Hurricanes . The operational area was south-west England and northern France. In October 1941, the unit received Spitfires and moved to Northolt . In April 1944 the conversion to Mustangs took place . There were escorts and Jabo deployments. In July 1944 the unit was relocated to the south coast and used against V1 attacks until October . Then she took over escort duties again until the end of the war. On December 11, 1946, the unit was dissolved.
