Noah (formerly Peterpan ) is a successful Indonesian pop-rock band, which currently consists of the members Ariel , Andika, Loekman and Reza. The band is best known for their simple lyrics and the voice of Ariel.

history

The band was founded in 1997 by Andika (Andika Naliputra Wirahardja - pianist), Uki (Mohammad Kautsar Hikmat - guitar), Ariel (Nazril Irham - singer), Abel (bassist) and Ari (drummer) as a school band in banding .

In June 2003 Peterpan released her debut album Tamen Langit . The second album was Bintang di Surga ( A Star in Heaven ). The album hit 350,000 sales in the second week. This made Peterpan one of the largest Indonesian bands in terms of album sales. In response to the success of their second album, the band received 3 SCTV awards, one in 2004 and two in 2005 . Again, they are the on 9 May 2005 MTV Asia Award in the category Indonesian Favorite Artist ( popular Indonesian band awarded); for the song Kukatakan Dengan Indah ( I say it beautifully ) the band was awarded the Best Pop Alternative Band ( Best Pop Alternative Band ) in the Indonesian AMI (2005).

After the second album, on September 18, 2005, they released the soundtrack for the film Alexandria under the title Menunggu Pagi ( Waiting for Dawn ).

In August 2012 the band changed their name from Peterpan to NOAH .
