from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
deep breast lymph nodes, the nodi lymphoidei intercostales, are labeled as intercostal nodes on the right side of the body on the left in the picture.

The Nodi lymphoidei intercostales are a group of lymph nodes that lie on the back in the intercostal space near the head of the ribs . They absorb the lymph from the intercostal spaces and the wall sheet of the pleura . The lymph drains into the thoracic duct , on the right also into the dexter lymphatic duct , from the lower intercostal spaces into the cisterna chyli .
