The nombo sword is an African sword . African swords were developed and used in different countries and by different ethnic groups in Africa as weapons of war, hunting, culture and class. The respective designation of the weapon refers to a variant of this weapon type that is assigned to a certain ethnic group .

description

The Nombo sword has a curved, double-edged, saber-like blade. The blade has a central ridge that runs from the handle over about a third of the blade. From the handle on, the blade is narrower to the place . The place is slightly rounded. The booklet has no guard, is made of wood and wrapped with metal wire. The pommel is conical and covered with copper sheet on the top. The Nombo sword is used by the Ngombe, Doko, Ngbandi and Nombo ethnic groups.
