Nonnenfelsen (Erlabrunn)

The nun rock made of tourmaline granite is located opposite the Erlabrunn stop on the Schwarzenberg – Johanngeorgenstadt railway line . A via ferrata facility for climbing tourists has existed since August 2010 . On May 15, 2011, a summit cross donated by Konrad Fenzl from Johanngeorgenstadt was erected on the Nonnenfelsen , after it had been consecrated by Pastor Dominikus Goth.

With the Nonnenfelsen the legend is connected to the nun Isa on the run from the servants of the monastery Grünhain and their dogs of this rock in the valley of black water a jump ventured into the depths and has thereby saved from them.

Below the Nonnenfelsen there is a rock formation in the river bed of the black water, which is called a stone heart and around which a legend also entwines.
