Business activity

NorCom Information Technology GmbH & Co KGaA is active in the areas of Big Data, Big Infrastructure and Information Management. The IT and consulting company offers its customers IT architecture for a wide variety of business cases through its core competence Asset Based Consulting. NorCom creates solutions - either on the basis of a self-developed software framework or from open source projects. The consulting area includes various services that range from classic management consulting through the analysis and optimization of business processes to network integration and security.

One of NorCom's largest customers in the IT consulting sector is the Federal Employment Agency with its headquarters in Nuremberg. The cooperation with the Federal Agency has existed since 2003. In 2008, a large order was placed for operational support services with a volume of approx. EUR 30 million over 3 years - this contract was again awarded to NorCom by the Federal Employment Agency at the end of 2010, with a term until 2014. At the beginning of December 2009, NorCom received another major order worth more than EUR 10 million over four years from the Federal Employment Agency. The IT service provider assumes, among other things, basic services and solution development to support office communication.

In August and September 2013, NorCom received awards for a total of three lots from the Federal Employment Agency. The lots "BU 2013 Office Communication", "Applications" and the newly won lot "Procedure" have an order volume of 355 man-years within the next three years.

In July 2011, NorCom received framework agreements from DB Systel with a term of three years starting in August 2011, with the option of two extensions for a further two years each (potential total term of seven years). Through these framework agreements, NorCom, along with other companies, should cover DB Systel's ongoing needs for support services over a period of several years. The total volume was stated by DB Systel at around EUR 30 million per year, but there is no purchase obligation. NorCom estimates a turnover of around EUR 3–5 million per year as realistic.

In 2015, NorCom developed the software solutions Eagle for document- centered collaboration and DaSense for data management of big data technologies for the automotive industry.

At the beginning of 2017, DaSense was selected as a strategic infrastructure component for the development of autonomous vehicles by Daimler AG, at the end of 2017 Daimler AG expanded this to a DaSense group license.
