Norah Zapata-Prill

Norah Zapata-Prill (born January 1, 1946 in Cochabamba ) is a Bolivian poet, corresponding member of the Bolivian Language Academy, professor of literature and Spanish, graduate of the Catholic Pedagogical University of Cochabamba. She completed post-graduate studies in Spanish Language and Literature at the Spanish Cultural Institute in Madrid.

Norah Zapata-Prill has received numerous prizes and awards, including twice, in 1973 and 1977, the Grand State Prize for Poetry by Franz Tamayo . She published numerous volumes of poetry, u. a. From the stars and the silence , 1975; Twins in winter , 1978; Fascination of Fire , 1985; Dialog im Aquarium , 1985 and anthology , 2008. Further poems appeared in several anthologies in Bolivia and other countries. She took part in numerous poetry festivals, including a. in Argentina, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. She is currently the director of a psychogeriatric center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
