Norbert Madaras

Norbert Madaras (born December 1, 1979 in Eger ) is a Hungarian water polo player .

The 1.91 m tall attacking player has been part of the regular formation of the Hungarian national team since 2003. He finished third at the European Championship in 2003 and won the world title in Barcelona . In Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games , he became Olympic champion. In 2005 he won silver at the World Cup . He was also runner-up with the team at the 2006 European Championships and 2007 World Championships , each receiving silver. At the 2008 Olympic Games , the Hungarians won the final against the team from the United States. For Madaras it was the second Olympic victory in a row.

After the Olympic Games in 2004, he moved from the Hungarian professional league, where he played for VASAS Budapest , to Italy. From 2006 to 2011 he was Italian champion and cup winner with Pro Recco .
