The Nordis magazine is a German magazine that regularly over the northern European countries Denmark , Finland , Greenland , Iceland , Norway and Sweden reported. Travel and outdoor reports as well as tourist information form the main part of the contributions. News from the politics , culture and economy of the Nordic countries as well as reviews on literature and film complete the program. The magazine has been published six times a year since 1994.

editorial staff

Nordis is based in Essen. The editor-in-chief is Susanne Schernewski (since 2018). In addition to a solid base of editors, journalists and freelance authors in all northern European countries write for the Northern Europe magazine and deliver reports, background reports and news from the far north.

target group

Nordis is aimed at a broad readership of Scandinavia fans and Northern Europe enthusiasts. The focus ranges from individual and group travelers to family vacationers. Lovers of Scandinavian culture as well as nature enthusiasts and outdoor enthusiasts will find a wide range of current reports on Scandinavia , Finland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Current surveys show that an average of 2.5 people read the magazine per issue.

Issue contents

Nordis focuses on traveling by car, mobile home or public transport. In addition to trekking, bike and canoe tours from the outdoor area, there are also winter experiences such as B. cross-country skiing and skiing, but also husky and snowmobile tours, ice fishing trips or northern lights excursions are entered in the magazine and arouse desire for the next active holiday. There is a travel service with the latest travel news. There is also the presentation of the latest outdoor products and tips for Nordic outdoor practice. The sections Northern Europe Current and Economy provide interested readers with news from politics, society and the economy of the individual countries of Northern Europe. This is complemented by tips for new books, films and CDs. And last but not least, there is an event calendar for Scandinavian travelers with events throughout Northern Europe and Germany.

Nordis travel guide

The Nordis Travel Guide is published once a year in an updated edition, a travel guide with very extensive information material for travelers to Northern Europe. From A for arrival to Z for customs regulations, the travel guide in pocket book format provides information on arrival and travel to the holiday country, event tips, an active section with tips for summer and winter as well as important addresses in the respective holiday countries.

Scandinavia world

The Scandinavian World is part of Reise + Camping , the largest spring fair for travel, tourism, camping and caravanning in West Germany, which takes place every February in Essen. In a special presentation organized and supervised by Nordis Verlag, suppliers from Northern Europe as well as tour operators aiming at Scandinavia will present their travel and Nordic lifestyle. In addition, typically Scandinavian fashion and jewelry stands, culinary delicacies and music from Northern Europe round off the trade fair program. Since 2019 there has also been another Scandinavian world as part of T&C Touristik & Caravaning in Leipzig.
