Nordre Rønner are a small Danish group of islands in the Kattegat seven kilometers north of Læsø . Most of the islands in the group are elevations of a sandbank that is connected to Læsø by a narrow strip of Rønnerev . The total area of the six islands is 11 hectares . The islands are uninhabited, only the main island Spirholm was inhabited earlier (from 1880 to 1963). On February 1, 1916, the island had 13 inhabitants, and in 1930 five.
The Nordre Rønner Fyr lighthouse is on Spirholm . No guard has lived on the island since the lighthouse was automated. There is a small boat harbor in the north of the island.
The remaining islands are Store Stenholm, Lille Stenholm, Klatterne and Langholm, and Borfeld.
