North Siberian pig
The North Siberian pig ( Russian Сибирская северная , transcribed Sibirskaja sewernaja ) is a multi-purpose pig breed from Russia .
Breeding history
Under the direction of MO Simon, native short-eared Siberian sows were crossed with Large-White boars in Novosibirsk Oblast . In 1942 the breed was officially recognized.

There are 8 boar lines and 12 sow families.
Occurrence
The main breeding centers are Ojaschinski, Borowskoje and Krasny Oktyabr in the Krasnoyarsk Territory . The breed is kept in Novosibirsk Oblast , Krasnoyarsk Territory, and Buryatia in Russia and Kazakhstan . In 1980 the number was 24,500 purebred animals.
