The Norma Precision AB is a Swedish company based in Åmotfors ( municipality Eda ), the cartridge manufactures, which are now used mainly in hunting and sports. 30 million cartridges in 110 different calibers are produced per year (2011) by currently 135 employees and sold worldwide. Norma Precision has been supplier to the Royal Swedish Court for many years . The name Norma comes from the preference of one of the founders for the opera Norma by Vincenzo Bellini .

history

The company's origins go back to Norma Projektilfabrik A / S , which was founded in 1895 by the Enger brothers in their hometown of Oslo, Norway . The Enger brothers set up a branch in Åmotfors in 1902. A factory was built in 1911, which was followed by ten additional facilities in 1940. Norma Precision merged with Svenska Metallverken in 1965 . Norma Precision changes hands several times. In 1975 Hasselfors Bruks AB bought the company, in 1979 FFV , in 1990 Dynamit Nobel AB bought the company and finally RUAG Ammotech , based in Thun , Switzerland , became the owner of Norma Precision . RUAG Ammotec AG is a subsidiary of RUAG Holding based in Bern, Switzerland . Norma has also developed some cartridges in-house, including the .308 Norma Magnum , .338 Norma Magnum and .358 Norma Magnum .
