Nortec

Nortec is a style of electronic dance music that originated in Mexico in the late 1990s . It is characterized by a mixture of traditional Mexican music and electronic elements.

In the beginning, most of the Nortec pieces had a minimalist basic character and a generally slow so-called downtempo , but the style gradually diversified.

The center of the movement is the north of Mexico around the city of Tijuana .
