Northwestern Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders was a British ship repair company based in Birkenhead on the River Mersey .

history

The company was founded in 2001 by former Cammell Laird manager John Syvret. The following year, half of the shares in return was the right to use their dry docks on the Mersey Docks & Harbor Co. issued. In 2005, Northwestern Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders acquired the former Cammell Laird shipyard from the A&P Group . In June 2008 the company won a maintenance contract on eleven support ships of the Royal Navy . After the naming rights to Cammell Laird were acquired in 2007 , the company changed its name to Cammell Laird Shiprepairers and Shipbuilders Ltd in November 2008 .
